Kenya’s fast rising musician and music producer Denzel Njuguna has opened up to a touching story on how he lived a painful childhood.
The ‘Hee Hinya’ singer who sings mostly in Kikuyu vernacular was raised in Mombasa years after his birth in Kabatini, Nakuru County in the year 1997.
For him life took a divergent turn when he lost his dad in 2005 and to add more salt onto the wound his mother also died in 2007, about two years later. At this time Denzel was in lower primary , left with nothing to cling on except luck .
Unfortunately even luck decided to take a different route. The little Denzel was transfered to Nakuru where he moved in with his grandparents .Life became even more unbearable with a thorny trail of problems after problems.
Up to that point he had no other option but to concentrate on both his education and music , little did he know holding both at the same was not going to materialize. He needed fees to continue staying in class and at the same time funds to build a base for his passion in music .A flowering career I would call it.
The talented singer started his music career back in 2010 .It was during the same period that he opted out of school at form 3 after signs of getting his schools fees geared to the nearest zero.He however still made a tough decision to keep going even after realizing he needed more funds to fund his music videos.
In his mind he wanted something that would give him quick leverage to mainstream so he created a professional dance crew .However this move again did not materialise.Denzel then ventured into music production and decided to dive in and hone his craft by teaching himself how to create ear-soothing beats.
God would later open a chain of opportunities for him turning his challenges into blessings.
The resilient entertainer was lucky to be absorbed at Jumbo Sound Records where he stayed for some time before shifting to ATL Music .He is today a signed artiste and music producer at Champion Studios and his song “Hee Hinya” has received quite a positive reception from fans across the country.Denzel has promised to produce more and more good music in the near future.
